Frequently asked questions

Is this the official Gaoye site?

This is the official Gaoye brand catalog. We maintain the full range with specs and measurements, while checkout and delivery run through established retail partners.

Do blue light glasses have any magnification?

No. The whole blue light shelf is zero-strength: plain clear lenses with UV400 and blue light filtering. If print has started drifting, you want the reading shelf, where every model carries its diopter in the name.

Which reader strength do I need?

Hold a phone at your normal reading distance. Squinting at 14 inches points to +1.0 or +1.5; needing a full arm points to +2.0 or +2.5. The strength guide walks through the test in detail. Different numbers per eye is a prescription conversation with an optometrist.

Are the lenses tinted yellow?

The standard line uses clear lenses with the filter in the coating, so colors on screen stay honest. A slight reflection under some lighting is the coating working, not a defect.

What are the frames made of?

Three materials, stated per listing: TR90 nylon that flexes instead of snapping, polycarbonate that keeps multipack prices down, and thin metal rims on the retro rounds. The materials guide compares them by weight and habit.

Why do most listings come as packs?

Because glasses migrate: desk, car, nightstand, gone. Packs of 2 to 6 keep the per-pair price between about $2 and $9 and put a spare where the lost pair used to be.

Why does the button send me to another store?

We are a catalog, not a warehouse. The availability button opens the current partner listing where price, stock and checkout live.

Are prices on this site live?

They reflect our last check and can drift. The partner page is always the source of truth at the moment you order.
